Jane is a consultant at Slateford.

Jane is a reputation, privacy, and data protection law specialist. She has a wealth of experience advising well-known companies and household names. Her experience includes advising on adverse publicity (pre and post-publication), regulatory complaints to IPSO, Ofcom and the ICO, blackmail and harassment, data breaches, and reputational issues arising from complex multi-jurisdictional disputes. Her particular areas of interest include social media abuse and the right to be forgotten. She has particular expertise in data protection, having achieved a Practitioner’s Certificate in Data Protection with distinction.

Her experience includes securing a lucrative settlement for a high-profile musician against a tabloid newspaper in respect of a front-page article, safeguarding the privacy of a child of a high-profile couple, and negotiating the settlement of a defamation claim against a big tech company.

Jane is adept at devising innovative solutions to complex legal issues, often under time-sensitive conditions, and prides herself on providing unwavering support to her clients.
